Update on the Slam dunk contest

I know I said in an earlier post only Paul George, Iman Shumpert, Chase Buddinger, and Derrick Williams were the only ones competing in the dunk contest. But David Stern and the NBA gave in to Jeremy Evans's plea to compete after Iman Shumpert got injured. And turns out Jeremy's two balled dunk over Gordan Hayward won him Blake's crown. To see jeremy's dunk go to the hyperlink.

2012 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest

The Nba has announced the contenders for the Sprite Slam Sunk Contest. They Are Derrick Williams, Paul George, Iman Shumpert,  Chase Buddinger. Derrick Williams is from the Minnesota Timberwolves he's a high flyer out of Arizona. Paul George can throw it down with authority to rival any body in the NBA. Does the Knicks rookie Iman Shumpert out of Georgia Tech have what it takes to win the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest. Can the Rockets swingman make history after being in Yo's shadow for so long.

Randy Moss planning a comeback

Just like Brett Farve. Randy Moss just can't let football go. Moss announced on a webchat Monday — his 35th birthday — that he's planning a comeback. Moss has said " I play when I want to play". Well six months after retirement he wants to play. “It didn't surprise me when he retired, and it doesn't surprise me he wants to come back,” said Bob Pruett, Moss' college coach at Marshall. “I think he can be a great player for whoever picks him up.” Here are some of the teams he's played for.

Mavericks vs Clippers

Dirk and the Mav's beat the Clippers in a nail-biter. Dirk of course being the leading scorer for the Mav's but Caron Buttler being the leading scorer for the Clippers. Dirk was the leading scorer of the game with 30 points.

Even though I hate the Mav's I tip my hat off to Dirk.

  • Never lose players on your team to free agency Go to the "Mange Roster" menu, and edit a player (for example, Carlos Zambrano). Scroll to his contract, and you will see the amount of money and years he has remaining. You can lower the amount of money and add as many years as desired. You will never lose him until he retires.

  • Extra money in Franchise mode Successfully complete your first season in Franchise mode. When you begin the next season, there should be some great free agents that can be acquired (for example, Cliff Lee, David Ortiz, Torii Hunter, etc.). However, when you try to sign one, you may not have enough funds. To bypass this, go to "Manage Roster", select a player, and go to "Edit Player". Scroll until you find "Contract". This will show their current contract (for example, $1.4 million and 4 years) and each year's salary. It also gives you the option to decrease or add a year, or even drop his salary very low in the final year, etc. For example, as the Cubs select Lee, max his contract out to ten years, and set it to the lowest amount on each year ($300,000). Save the game, then go back to free agency. Sign Torii Hunter, and you should have more money available. You can repeat this with as many players as desired.

  • Getting a player into Majors easily in My Player mode Change the hitting, contact, power, and speed difficulty sliders in your favor to play much better and get called up to the Majors quickly. Note: You will not earn any trophies while using the difficulty sliders. Once you get to the Majors, change the difficulty sliders to Pro or higher.

  • Trophies Successfully complete one of the following tasks to get a trophy:
Down But Not Out (Bronze): Get a hit with 2 strikes on Pro or higher, in a non-simulated game.
Grab Some Pine (Bronze): Get a strikeout to end the inning on Pro or higher, in a non-simulated game.
Run the Risk (Bronze): Steal a base after the 6th inning tied or down by 1 run on Pro or higher, in a non-simulated game.
A Pitcher's Best Friend (Bronze): Turn a double play on Pro or higher, in a non-simulated game.
To the Rescue (Bronze): Bring in a pitcher, get a save with the tying run on base on Pro or higher, in a non-simulated game.
A Virtue (Bronze): Face 10 pitches as the batter on Pro or higher in a non-simulated game.
Don't Call It a Comeback (Bronze): Win after being down by 4 after the 6th inning on Pro or higher, in a non-simulated game.
Keep on Truckin' (Bronze): Truck the Catcher and score on Pro or higher, in a non-simulated game.
This is Why I'm Here (Bronze): Be successful in a major-league clutch moment in My Player Mode.
Trifectas Maximus (Bronze): Throw a MAX pitch 3 consecutive times with Total Control on Pro or higher, in a non-simulated game.
One Man Show (Bronze): Throw a Perfect Game or a No-Hitter on Pro or higher in a 9 inning game, in a non-simulated game.
Time to Run for Mayor (Bronze): Hit 3 Home Runs in a single game with the same player on Pro or higher, in a non-simulated game.
I Came, I Saw... (Bronze): Hit a Walk-off Home Run on Pro or higher, in a non-simulated game.
Stooges (Bronze): Strikeout all three hitters in the inning on Pro or higher, in a non-simulated game.
